Global handwashing day is a reminder that hygiene must be kept to everyday. Washing your face, body, hands and smelling fresh is all part of important hygiene habits that need to be kept.
Food hygiene is very important because as it ensures that food is safe to be consumed. When food is not cooked properly or washed it can cause food poising. Our hands touch a lot of metal, surfaces, phones and other germ contaminated items. That is why, it is recommended that every time you touch food, your hands are washed with soap and water.
COVID-19 has proven that just sanitizing our hands is not enough before touching food. SA coronavirus stats state that before touching food hands must be washed with hands and soap for at least 20 seconds.
