ICPA Members – Let’s Lead the Conversation in Our Communities

ICPA will once again be supporting World AIDS Day on 01 December, and we encourage all ICPA pharmacies to join our collective effort to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and empower patients to take control of their health.

South Africa continues to face key challenges in HIV care, including late diagnosis, gaps in treatment adherence, stigma, and limited awareness of prevention tools such as PrEP and PEP. As trusted healthcare professionals on the frontlines, pharmacists play a vital role in transforming the AIDS response by improving access to testing, supporting ongoing treatment, and helping communities “Close the Gap” through education, compassion, and responsible counselling.

To support your in-pharmacy activations, ICPA provides:

  • New social media posts you can share on your platforms
  • Printable in-pharmacy poster encouraging patients to “Know Your Status” and engage in HIV testing and prevention discussions.

We ask all members to participate by:
–    Wearing the red ribbon in solidarity,
–    Promoting HIV testing and “Know Your Status” conversations,
–    Educating patients about prevention, treatment adherence, and achieving a zero viral load, and
–    Creating simple, meaningful in-pharmacy engagements that help reduce stigma and support informed decision-making.
